Power Moms: How Executive Mothers Navigate Work and Life with Author Joann S. Lublin

On the May 1, 2025, edition of Next Practices Weekly, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Joann S. Lublin will join us to explore the experiences of “Power Moms”—women who’ve navigated the complex intersection of career ambition and motherhood while often leading major companies. Joann initiated The Wall Street Journal’s first career column and kept writing “Your Executive Career” until May 2020. She remains a regular contributor for the Journal, with pieces on leadership and other issues.
Drawing from her book Power Moms: How Executive Mothers Navigate Work and Life, Joann will join i4cp's Lorrie Lykins, Managing Editor and VP of Research, and Tom Stone, Senior Research Analyst, to share powerful stories from top leaders across generations who have redefined what it means to lead as a mother.
In this session:
- Shifting expectations: How GenX and Millennial executives are redefining work-life integration.
- Organizational blind spots: Why outdated policies continue to drive painful tradeoffs for working moms.
- The path forward: Practical next practices companies can adopt to better support working parents.
Join us for a thoughtful, data-informed discussion that bridges personal journeys and organizational change.
